We all know the feeling.

This started out as simply a status post on FaceBook, but I'm going to be concieted and like my own words enough to just post it as a blog as well:

We all know the feeling of pain and grief. We all know what it's like to lose something or someone that we care about so deeply. As time goes by the feelings come and go, but the one thing that remains constant is our love for whatever was lost. The love doesn't change. No words can describe it, but we all know the feeling.

The feelings of pain and grief may be brought about by different means and they may be sort of different, but really we are all the same. We are all human and we all hurt. Again, the hurt is brought about by different means, but in the end you realize everyone bleeds the same.

"Time heals all things", I don't find this to be true. Time doesn't heal anything. Really as time goes by we just learn to not take it so hard. We learn that we can't un-lose something. We can't change what's been done. Time is simply a bandaid. The pain gets covered, but can come back. We never forget what it feels like.

The love, however, remains constant. You don't stop loving what you lost. You go days on end thinking about it, dreaming about it, wanting it back so desperately. You cry about it, you get angry... it happens. It's okay. It's life. We all do it.

It's simple though: the love never fades. If anything, it grows stronger.
